Greenery Freebie and Instructions

You will need to provide your own supplies which will include crepe paper, floral wire (I have used 16 gauge and 20 gauge wires), and glue.

Step-By-Step Instructions

Start by printing out the template and cutting out the template pieces. Each template piece shows the number of pieces to cut out from the crepe paper, and the direction of the arrow shows the direction to line up to the grain of the crepe paper.

Steps for making Lemon Leaf

A length of wire is used for each leaf. Glue paper strip to cover the stem wire leaving a bare length where the leaf will be glued.

Apply a line of glue along the straight edge of a leaf half and place wire on the glue.

Place second leaf half on top so that the wire is sandwiched between the leaf halves.

Do the same for all leaves. Lay out the leaves in the configuration that you would like.

Use stem covering strips to wrap and attach leaves to the main stem.

After attaching all leaves, continue to cover the entire length of the stem.

Spread out the leaves.

After glue has dried, fold the leaves down the centre.

Steps for making Blue Eucalyptus

The cut out paper. 8" and 10" long wires are used for the branches and a 9" long wire is used for the main stem.

Start by wrapping the tip of one of the branch wires with paper strip.

Glue a pair of the of the smaller leaves close to the tip on either side of the wire.

Wrap the strip of paper around the bottom of the leaves.

Continue wrapping and glue a pair of the larger leaves.

Continue wrapping.

Continue gluing pairs of the larger sized leaves and wrapping.

Here, the 8" wire has 4 pairs of leaves.

Use same procedure to attach 5 pairs of leaves to the 10" wire.

Use stem covering to strip wrap and attach the branches to the main stem.

Attach the final pair of leaves at the location where the branches and stem meet.

Continue wrapping to cover the remaining length of stem.

Stretch each leaf near the base of the leaf to shape them.

Steps for making Eucalyptus Parvifolia

The cut out paper and wires. Two 8" lengths of wire for branches and one 9" length for the main stem.

Start by wrapping the tip of one of the branch wires with paper strip.

Glue a pair of the of the smaller leaves close to the tip on either side of the wire.

Wrap the strip of paper around the bottom of the leaves.

Continue wrapping and attach a pair of the larger leaves.

Each branch will have 3 pairs of leaves.

Branches will then be attached to main stem.

Glue a strip of paper around the branches and stem to attach them.

Glue a pair of leaves at the position where the stem and branches meet.

Wrap paper strip around the base of the leaves and continue wrapping to cover the entire stem.
