Step-By-Step Instructions

Once you have printed out the template, cut out the template pieces, and gathered your supplies, we can start making the flower! This begins at step 4 from the instructions PDF.

Step 4: Cut strip of paper for the flower centre

Step 5: Make flower centre and glue to stem wire

Twist the paper around the middle to form a bow shape.

Stretch the paper on either side of the twist.

Fold the strip in half and glue the ends to the stem forming a hollow ball-like shape for the flower centre.

Step 6: Cut petals using template pieces 2-7

Step 8: Stretch and shape petals

After allowing the glue to dry, slightly stretch the center of the petals to form a more smooth rounded curve to the petal. The left are the un-stretched petals, and the right shows the petals after stretching.

For the petal from template piece 7, also stretch the centre of the petal.

Step 9: Attach petals

Apply glue on the bottom 1 cm of the petals and attach around the petal centre from smallest petal to largest petal.

After attaching the first 3 petals.

After attaching the second round of petals.

After applying third round of petals.

After fourth round.

After fifth round.

5 petals are attached for the 6th round.

The final round of petals is attached with petals curved away from the centre.

Step 10: Cut sepals, leaves, and stem covering strips

Step 11: Glue sepals to the base of the flower

Step 12: Cover the stem and attach leaves

Stretch the end of a stem covering strip and apply glue. Attach it starting at the base of the flower angled downwards.

Continue to stretch and apply glue on the strip until you reach the place where you want to attach the leaf and glue it on. Then continue to wrap and cover the rest of the stem.
